I'm having in issue in pulling in TIFF sequences from our RAID server. Sometimes AE refuses to pull them in at all and I get a "After Effects error: Can't import as a sequence. Found no matches for the selected file name." Sometimes it will only import part of the sequence. It is always possible to import each TIFF as an individual still, so there are no issues with the actual files. I can also import the same sequences from a local drive and there is no issue when copying the sequences from the server to a local drive through explorer. Premiere is also able to import the same TIFF sequence but I have seen this problem time and time again within After Effects.
I haven't tried all other file types but JPEG sequences are ok.
This problem existed in Windows 7 and is still apparent in Windows 8.1 on a new build system. I'm not sure whether it is some kind of permissions thing but I have been told by our IT guy that the server is fully accessible are there should be no permissions issues. The fact that each file can be seen individually and that Premiere can import the same sequence leads me to believe that this is an AE problem.
