partial display of animation when opening project

I had set up an animation and then when I reopen the file objects are only partially displayed or not displayed at all. I tried an render and no dice.

I have spent the last many hours setting this up and now it won’t display or render properly. objects are not showing or only bit are visible. I’m using a new Mac pro “trash can and have 32 gigs of ram etc. Help!
