In my bullet pointed list, one point runs over two lines - how do I the two lines to appear at the same time?

I’m animating a bullet pointed list using the range selectors, adjusting the opacity and choosing ‘by lines’. HOWEVER – one of my bullet points runs over two lines and I’d like those two lines to appear at the same time so it's clear it's the part of the same point.

I’ve tried changing the units to index rather than % then key framing each line but that isn’t working either… Is there a way to adjust the start / end gate to skip a line? I'm not sure if this is possible as they run left to right?

I'm pretty new to After Effects so I think I'll be missing something obvious...

Any help would be much appreciated!
