I got the trial for After Effects CC today (latest update) and it was working fine, I could import videos or any media and see all the details, the video thumbnail, etc. Whenever I move any video into the timeline however (all of the videos I tested worked completely fine in the Premiere CC Trial (The Premiere Trial had some problems as well)) and it just comes up with the Transform Borders on the Program window and then crashes. I uninstalled and reinstalled the program and it made no different. Please help, thanks.

After Effects Exporting to Media Encoder very slowly
Anyone else having trouble with the more recent 2017 update causing after effects to move at a snails pace to make the AME file? I mean like 4+ minutes to make the file. My main .aep is 33 MB but thats because there are a lot of vecotors and imported illustrator files. there is only one photo texture used and thats only 700 kbs.

After Effects 2017.1 (January update) shows emty errorbox and shuts down on startup
Since I updated after effects in January I have had this issue. When I try to launch after effects the only thing that comes on screen is an empty error box. I have looked around the forums ever since but I have had no luck trying any of the posted answers. Renaming/deleting adobe folders in documents and appdata does nothing. completely removing aftereffects with a cleanup tool, updating graphics drivers and so on makes no difference. One thing I noticed was that when I tried logging on to my personal adobe account and installing after effects as trial it all seemed to work fine, but as soon as I log on to my school account and the program license is validated it stops working right away.
This is what the error message looks like and in the task manager you can see that the error box is the ONLY thing running under after effects.
Also when closed, nothing else happens except for the regular startup error message "After Effects can't continue. unexpected failure during application startup".
I'm on an Asus NJ550:
CPU: intel core i7-4710HQ 2x2.5GHz
GPU: Nvidia 860M (latest drivers)
RAM: 8GB DDR3
OS: Windows 10 Home
Everything else works just fine, including all other Adobe Software.

How to get layer on top to show?
I want to the top layer to zoom out in the new layer underneath. But as soon as the indicator hits the bottom layer, the bottom layer turns active. But then I miss the zooming of the top layer. If I move the bottom layer to where the top layer ends I get a black background around the out zooming top layer. That's not what I want.
I'm sure I have done this before, but I can't figure it out. Do I have to create a mask to make this work?

cc2017 I win 10 I preview window white at startup on dual screen
Hello,
I've been searching for my problem over the net, but haven't found any solution.
Also, i've been asking Adobe, and they replied this is a gpu driver issue.
But still whatever official driver version from Nvidia i install, the problem is there.
My config is new, bought three months ago, it's for Octane in 3D.
3 Titan X Maxwell + 1 Titan X Pascal and after effects is the only Adobe app that has this problem.
Here is the problem :
- on a dual screen configuration the preview window of the app is white, nothing can be shown here but a full white background.
- If i quit after effects, once it's quited : then it is still in the background applications working.
Cases where i don't have the problem :
If i delete the preferences and start after effects again, and :
- if i start after effects with only one monitor connected
- if i start with a dual monitor connected but after effects window app is in only one monitor.
I have already tried :
- to reinstall after effects from scratch,
- to install different versions of drivers from Nvidia,
- adding in the gpu supported text file in the app folder both Titan X and Titan X (Pascal)
- plugging the monitors on another gpu
I think my problem is not related to hardware as i would have read this type of problem already on the net,
it's not related to Nvidia driver i've been configuring it at the defaults.
All of the other apps are well working on dual screens, including the Adobe ones.
It's in the dual screens that this is happening.

Why is AEGP Plugin Cinema 4D CINERENDER returning error "connection failure (5027:12)"?
I use Windows 10 and has the latest version of After Effects to date. When I try using C4D I get the popup error message shown below. It very frustrating especially when I have a critical project working on. I need help like yesterday.

AEGP Plugin No-Download ANYWHERE??
Ive recently bought AE and i want to render in WMV format for my editin software but when i go to click on add to media encoder queue it says this:

After Effects Launches but No Windows Open - El Capitan
What I thought was happening was the After Effects windows were located off screen, as I'm running a separate external monitor. However, I've tried numerous things and can't get any windows to show up. All of my other creative cloud apps open and run fine, and I've had AE running fine on this machine before.
After Effects launches, no splash page comes up on screen like the other creative cloud apps showing the program launching. The file, edit, etc, menu bar comes up in the upper left hand corner. Initially I'm unable to select any options in the dropdown menus, however, if I hit enter I'm able to select options like open new project, etc. Nothing happens when I select any of those or any of the window layout options as well.
So far I've tried reseting the app preference by deleting the pref file manually, as well as launching the program with command + option + shift held down.
I've tried changing both of my screens resolutions to see if the windows are located off screen, which didn't work
I've uninstalled, restarted and reinstalled a few different versions of AE: Versions 14.0.1, 14.0.0, 13.8.0 I get the same thing with all of them.
Tried doing first aid in the disk utility on my main HD.
Here's my specs:
Macbook Pro Mid 2009
OS X El Capitan
2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
8GB RAM
Nvidia Geforce 9600 GT 512MB

GTX 1070 After Effects 2017 support..
Why does after effects 2017 still dont support Gtx 1070. I s shows uncompatible cuda gpu in after effects. Ilustrator and other adobe software has compatibility. Why is it still unsupported??

After Effects Playback Looping
Whenever I playback a composition in AE with the spacebar, it plays for about 4 seconds and then begins looping the section it rendered. It's totally impossible to watch an entire composition without constantly restarting the playback, and none of the playback settings inside AE seem to change anything.

Cached Preview needs 2 or more frames to playback?
Hi, I have been struggling with this After Effects for 2 days now and badly need to fix this.
When I try to preview what I am working on in my composition by pressing my space bar and clicking on the play button, I get this pop up message: "Cached Preview needs 2 or more frames to playback". When I click OK, I usually get the following pop-up: "Fresh layer cache check-out failed".
I cannot seem to get more than one frame in green or blue (cached). I have already tried Purging the memory, cleaning the database & cache and emptying my disk cache. I have also tried working on my other after effects files ( which all worked fine a few days ago) and they all have trouble previewing. I also tried working on earlier versions of After Effects and that either did not change my situation or could not open my files (not compatible versions, which is confusing to me because I have switched versions in the past when having a problem in AE and never had files not open because of version compatibility).
My max disk cache size is 75, which has always worked fine for me, with 12 GB RAM available for AE.
My "Reduce cache size when system is low on memory" is NOT checked and I have no other programs running.
Running latest version of After Effects 2017, 14.0.1.5
It's my first time posting a question on here so if I'm missing any useful info, please let me know.
I see a lot of people asking this same question on forums and have tried many of the tricks and tips, even the strange or very general ones, cleaned up a ton and restarted the computer and the program many times. None of the forums questions seemed to have been answered with a clear answer though, so hoping someone can help me as the Adobe chat will only open in two days and I have clients waiting for their work.

Motion Tracking Hands In A Golf Swing
Hi,
I'm wanting to track hands in a golf swing during the various stages.
The problem is that the hand will change the appearance during the swing as it has to rotate in 3 dimensions. Normal motion tracking simply goes offline as the track point changes state.
Would it be just easier to track the hand frame by frame or is there yet an easier automatic method?

Why can't I see the top camera view?
Hi there,
I have adobe after effects via CC, so I think all of my updates are installed. That said, recently I have been using a camera controlled by a 3D null object and while initially I was able to see the top view of the camera, now it appears as just a white box. I have tried restarting ae, I've tried refreshing the 3D view, I have duplicated the comp, I have tried duplicating the null and camera layers and deleting the originals and nothing is helping to allow me to see the top view. I have also scrolled through all of the other views and they are working fine. Is there some other way to get this working? Any thoughts would be great.
One other thing that may or may not be related is that the when I go to purge my disc cache and memory, that option is greyed out. The the purge memory option is available and I have done that. I find that when I purge the cache whatever issue I'm having, that usually solves it. But this time, no dice.
It's finals week and I need to get this bad boy finished. Help if you can.

Objects turn transparent on camera movement

I've been using After Effects for about 2 years now and I'm working on a flat animation project. After rendering a preview this started happening...

Any kind of camera movement with the phone makes the holder beneath visible through the phone. I'm using a camera parented to a null object for the movement.
This didn't show up anytime in the past. I was hoping to contact Adobe directly about this issue however I couldn't find the correct contact for this. Does anyone have any ideas?

Illustrator import problem
When I import an illustrator file (with multiple layers) into after effects it treats each layer like an image sequence. My other illustrator files come in just fine and I'm not sure why this one did this. See this image:
Any idea on how to get the layers to import normal?
