Since the last update to Ae I can't seem to be able to cycle through fonts like I used to. I believe before I could place my cursor in the font selector bar and cycle through them with the up/down arrow keys. Now, when I place the cursor it opens the font menu and my comp doesn't update responsively.
Any suggestions?

I've edited the audio of a video in an Audition multitrack session, and I've performed several cuts and stretch operations to parts of the audio.
Is it possible to somehow re-link the video to the audio, by that I mean applying the cuts and stretches to the video as well as the audio?
If not, are there any formats I could export the session in that could be editable in After Effects or Premiere Pro?
If not, are there any user created scripts that may be able to do this sort of thing?

Hello, I have a problem which looks like this:
I'm using After Effects CC 15.01
RAM: 64GB
OS: Windows 10, x64
This error appears when I try to import 16384 x 9216 px OpenEXR file to the project.
After this warning window appears AE just crash.
Can you please, help to fix this issue? I really need that big file in my project.
P.S. This supposed to be a VR-ready application, so, I think there should not be a problem working with 16K footage.
I need to import many Illustrator files into After Effects and convert the AI-layers into shape layers.
After the conversion into shape layers I encounter a problem with the anti aliasing.
After the import of the separate AI layers, I set each of them in the "Interpret Footage" -> "More Options" dialog from "fast" to "accurate".
If I don't do this, two adjacent layers have a line of semitransparent pixels between them. So the anti aliasing fixes this issue in the AI layers.
I need to animate the shape / path of the vector layers. So I convert them to AE shape layers.
As you can see below the shape layers again have a row of semitransparent pixels and visible steps between them.
The color layers do not overlap eachother, their anchor points meet exactly at the same spots. So there is absolutely no space between them!
It would be very annoying if I had to manually make the layers overlap each other by a pixel. If there is no fix for this problem then I will add a stroke with a width of 1 pixel. But this would be annoying, too.
Is there an anti alias setting for shape layers? Or is this some kind of premultiplication problem?

You will have to import the separate layers or import the whole file as footage and then split the layers and convert the layers to shape layers.
I recently updated my creative cloud plan to the new cc 2018 update, but today I found some issues with After Effects 2018, looks like it starts and then it crashes automatically without showing any errors besides the apple error and I deleted this files and folders

When I did it first after effects worked, but I shut down my mac and when I turned on again and launched the app quits after the loading screen, I tried this and the creative cloud cleanner app again but they do not work anymore, also unistalled it hoping it would start as new and It didn't, and then I tried the same thing on my laptop and the same thing happened on it.
I currently use after effects on both machines on MacOS Sierra 10.12.5
Imac 21.5' late 2013 core i5 1tb hdd
Macbook Pro 13' mid. 2012 core i5 500gb hdd
both with intel graphic cards.

Currently slightly baffled by a problem I'm having on my Windows 10 PC.
I have THREE After Effects versions pinned to my taskbar.
After Effects CC.
After Effects CC 2017.
After Effects CC 2018.
I am currently unable to open my CC 2018 project because...
"WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\MSVCP140.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error."
I would like to re-install my After Effects CC 2018 it but I can only see support on Creative Cloud for
CC which is also called 12.0.
CC 2014 which is also called 13.0
CC 2015 which is also called 13.5
or another CC which is also called 15.0.0
I have re-installed CC but it makes no change to my CC 2018.
My question is, where is the support for After Effects CC 2018?
(and also....what's with all the different versions?)
I'm currently stuck with a project I cannot open.

I know running AE takes a powerful machine, but why am I still limping after closing and quitting the application?
I'm running a recent Macbook w plenty of RAM and HD space, plus the 'Memory Clean' tool from FIPLAB. When my mac first boots up, I've got 30GB of free HD space. After working in AE yesterday, then closing and quitting it, I open my machine to find 7.3GB. The only other apps running are email, safari, and TopTracker for tracking my time. My Trash is empty. I know if I reboot I'll magically get all that space back, but isn't there a better way?
How can I clear out that used space that I assume is still held for AE??

I put some footage together and added transitions, one I used was “warp”. Once I was finished with my video I exported it into Adobe Media Encoder and put it on H.264 with an mp4 video, however it stops exporting and says “failed” around the warp transition. I do not want to have to limit my options in After Effects because it cannot export a transition - if that is the problem. I saw there a way to keep that transiton in and not have to delete it and swap it?

I can't just attach the spherize effect to a track point?
I tried to apply to tracking data to a null object when pick whip the center of the spherize to that point, but that throws the effect way off to the left.
I tired to add the spherize to an adjustment layer and add the tracking data to that, spherize doesn't work on an adjustment layer.
How can this be accomplished? I want the distortion's center to follow a tracking point.

Ich habe Ebenen, bei denen dieses Symbol fest ist und ich es nicht ändern kann. Dies scheint dafür zu sorgen, dass die Ebenen nicht angezeigt werden. Wie kann ich das ändern, bzw. was machen diese Felder überhaupt?

I used the clone stamp to remove a window that was adjacent to the window on the left part of this image. The final image looks like this:
When I duplicate the layer, the duplicated layer looks like this:
Any idea what's going on here? Here's a screenshot of my clone stamp settings below. From what I've read, these seem to be the correct settings for what I'd like to do. Ultimately, the window moves to the right part of the screen. I'd like to remove the window that's adjacent to this window so it is just blue on the right side using a combination of the clone stamp and motion tracking. The background changes color to a lighter shade of blue, which is why I'd like to use the clone stamp so the color of the blue will change throughout the sequence.
Any help is appreciated!

Just installed AE onto a brand new PC and noticed this file show up in my Quick Access folder, I have seen it before on a previous install and was wondering out of curiosity if any Adobe devs could explain what it is?! The file isn't in the directory anymore so it's some kind of file used in the installation via Creative Cloud.

since yesterday my preview window in After Effects stays black, no matter which file or composition I try. Even when I start a new project and import a video, I don't have a preview. Tried everything, even deinstalled & installed again. Note: Since 2 weeks I (unfortunately) have Windows 10; this seems to cause problems and delays in AE and Premiere, but for some days it worked and I did have my preview.
--> And yes, the Caps Lock is off...

AE crashes every time I try a 3d camera track (even after updated AE)
not good, im doing a project that needs to be ready by the morning, any ideas what is going on?
im using the latest version of AE, computer is a ' IV, proteu,windows 10 home, 6GB graphics, nvidia GTX 1060, 32GB ram.
the video file is a very simple pan shot on a gimbal using a sony A7s camera, XAVC format, 25fps
After Effects keeps crashing as soon as I move the timeline cursor. It then shows me a warning after it has crashed and makes a copy of the project which when I open does exactly the same. I can do everything but move the timeline cursor to a new position.
When it crashes it says: 
I have restarted my Mac already but don't know why this keeps on happening. When I create a new project, the error occurs only after like 10-20 mins working on it, then it crashes again and the whole thing starts again.

y solo me da dos opciones: No volver a abrir y reiniciar… cualquiera de las dos opciones hacen que se cierre AE y definitivamente no logro entrar al programa completamente. Ya intente abrir el programa reestableciendo las preferencias pero sigo teniendo el mismo problema.

We are using After Effects 2018 on Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2016 and we are facing some problems!
We know that Windows Servers are not officially supported by Adobe, however we were using AE CC 2017 on window server for years and never had this kind of problem!
Since switching to After Effects 2018 we notice that AE causes a “handle leak”, meaning it gradually opens more and more OS handles without closing them and causing lack of memory for other processes (like Windows system processes) and therefore the server becomes inaccessible or blocked!
I wonder if anybody else has faced a similar problem or if there is some solution for resolving After Effects handle leaking?
