My problem is I made 10 seconds long text animation, but the first 3 seconds of that is stucked and it's up to the video's end. I mean, I have a concrete effect, that starts at the beggining of the animation and it takes for 3 seconds. When it's over, the last effect frame stucks and its image is staying there untill the end of the video. It's funny, because this problem only appears on the final clip, but If I play this in After Effects there is no problem.

I am creating an animation that contains a shape layer with liquify and displacement map effects applied to it, and which is set to Luma Matte under a precomp layer that contains a PSD with a self-animating wave distort applied to it (it creates a rippling effect on the shape layer).
I want to take these layers (the shape, the precomp, and the shape layer that says "expo" and has no effects applied to it) and put them into a precomp, so I can animate them as one unit and add effects to them.
However, when I select all 3 and put them into a precomp, when I go back into this main comp, the expo is displaying, but not the NOW. I have collapse transformations and continuously rasterize switched on at all levels of the precompositions, but don't know if there's another switch or rendering method I should be using instead.
I've done a fair amount of googling, but since I don't know what is actually wrong, have only been able to dig up the collapse transformations tip.
If there's a fix, I'm sorely in need of it, my thesis show goes up quite soon and I need this animation for it!

When I try to do this, I am unable.
In the CC Glass effect, under the "Light" toggle options, in the "Using" selection, there are two options: "Effect Light" and "AE Lights." When I try to set the effect to use "AE Lights," it says AE Lights (requires CCfx HD). This is referring to "CyCore Effects HD."
Thing is, After Effects CS5.5 DOES seem to have this.
So, unless I'm missing something, it seems that logically, After Effects should be recognizing it. But somehow, it isn't. CC Glass is either not recognizing it or registering it.
What do I need to do to fix this? If anyone knows what the solution to this is, I would greatly appreciate an answer as soon as possible.

Ok, so I had just upgraded from CS6 to CC, I'm editing a video and I go to preview it. It ends up not playing until it renders the entire video. how do I make it to where I can pause the rendering and play what has been rendered, this is how it was in CS6. Thank you.

I've been using AE to remove tripods from 360 footage via the VR Comp Editor and the clone stamp tool. I have some stereoscopic footage and was wondering is there a way to converge the the view or separate a piece of finalised footage to work on? Any help appreciated.

I recently updated my creative cloud plan to the new cc 2018 update, but today I found some issues with After Effects 2018, looks like it starts and then it crashes automatically without showing any errors besides the apple error and I deleted this files and folders

When I did it first after effects worked, but I shut down my mac and when I turned on again and launched the app quits after the loading screen, I tried this and the creative cloud cleanner app again but they do not work anymore, also unistalled it hoping it would start as new and It didn't, and then I tried the same thing on my laptop and the same thing happened on it.

i am having a problem related to after effect passes compositing. what happened to me is, i am being taught passes compositing like 1.diffuse 2.ambient occlusion so on and changing their blending modes to add or multiply,
But the problem is i want to know the work of passes and understand the passes (types of passes).
IF THERE IS ANYBODY CAN MAKE ME UNDERSTAND ALL THE PASSES (or you can send me any link{video,website,que/ans} where i can learn passes compositing easily) , I WOULD BE GLAD .

Every time I switch back to After Effects from another application, it becomes non-responsive for upto 30 secs.
This mostly happens with projects that have a lot of imported content.
I have a project which has around 50 pictures & 3 audio files imported.
It hangs for upto 30 secs at times when I go to some other application and switch back to AE...even at times switching back in 1 sec!!!
Aftereffects takes around 7 GB of space to operate this project.
My system is Windows 10, i5 6500 ~ 3.5GHz, 16 GB ram.
Is this normal? Is there something in the settings that can change this?
The 50 jpgs put together take around 70 mbs of space...How come AE takes 7 Gb of ram!!??

Hey, this is a pretty complex thing that I'm starting to do and I doubt that I will ever get an answer to this - but I was making a montage for a video and I'm using a trap song because it has good beats. I converted those beats into keyframes so I can do some automatic pumps without the need of making them manually.
Now I figured it would be cool if I animated Time Remapping the same way, so when the beat is played, the speed will automatically increase. But I am having a hard time finding out how. I attached a screenshot of what I am doing in case you still don't understand. Please post the expression if you find out how to do it.
I am working on a work project and I am ready to render and when I do I get an error message, here it is

So, I'm trying to figure out if there's something on my end I can do to get AE to load consistently. It keeps crashing on startup during the "cleaning up" phase; usually when it's "cleaning up" smartmask interpolation but occasionally on cleanup for other things. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling without luck. I've tried trashing preferences, but the program crashes during startup, so I can't do the ctrl+alt+shift method. AE will occasionally open properly, but it's like playing roulette.
Any ideas how to fix this? I've done forum and google searches and didn't see any posts regarding this, so apparently it must be fairly isolated. I'm on the latest version - CC 2018 and did not have this issue with CC 2017. I'm running windows 10, which forces updates, so I know the OS is current. Video drivers are also current.

I am looking for a way to control a shape layer or a mask by sound.
Or in other words, I wish to access a point on a shape and tie its position to other layer's attribute like SoundKeys sound frequency range.
For example, I attach this picture here.
How can I make a specific point in the shape to move according to the height of a specific bar in the spectrum?
The ultimate goal will be to connect each point to a specific bar in the spectrum.

I'm using the "After Codecs 1.2.2" plugin I have Windows 10 build 1607 (There were no such errors on the 1703 build). After Effects CC 2014 gives an error when selecting the codec mp4 or mov from after the codecs 1.2.2.
