AE CC Mac: After Effects Collect Files not collecting some files, including project!

I need to send a client some collected projects, but the File > Dependencies > Collect Files command is not collecting some of the files (after the project has been reduced, so all the files in the project are required), including the project file!

 

I just end up with a collected folder containing a "Footage" folder that includes some of the files and not others. This is a nightmare!! There are hundreds of files that will take days I do not have to manually track each file down.

 

Any suggestions?

RAM preview takes forever to start?

Did something change in 12.2 with RAM preview? I feel like it is taking *forever* to begin rendering. I'm not talking about the speed at which it renders once it begins, because that is what it is and doesn't seem any different. But I feel like since having gone to 12.2, I spend way more time looking at "Rendering Frame 2 of xxx requested" than I ever did before. I've looked at my memory & disk cache settings, and nothing seems to have changed there, so I don't know what's going on.

 

Here are my specs & settings:

 

iMac 27" Mid 2010

2.93 i7

AE 12.2

Disk cache: 100GB on internal hard drive

Installed RAM: 16 GB

Ram Reserved for other applications: 4 GB

Render Multiple Frames Simultaneously - checked

Installed CPUs: 8

CPUs reserved for other applications: 0

Ram allocation for background CPU: 2 GB

Actual CPUs that will be used: 4

 

I feel like this *just* started with 12.2. Is that possible?

presets gone

hey there,

 

i have a 2 month old install of aftere effects cc on my mac pro,

in the beginning i could browse my presets easily, since some days

they are gone.

 

i have them checked in the drop down menu to the right.

 

 

also when i browse presets in adobe bridge, and then try

to doubleclick them i get an error.

composition: duplicate and "make unique"

hi all

 

I am curious if there's a way in AE to duplicate a comp, then somehow "make unique", so that changes to the duplicate don't effect the original--

 

so far, I've been copy/pasting layers from the original into a newly created comp, and this seems to do the trick.. but perhaps there's a quicker way?

Rendering - New Mac or second Machine

Hello,

 

i got a requirement from a colleague. He catch a new project, where he have to do an imagemovie, which takes much power for rendering in after effects.

 

So now i have to find the best configuration for him to work with this project.

 

Two ways are possible in my view:

 

1. Buy a new machine with enough power, where he could render the movies and work parallel with other projects and applikations.

Which hardware requirements are needed for the new machine? I found the new MacPro, but this not available before april.

 

2. A second machine, only for rendering the movies and he could work with his MacBookPro.

Is it possible to get a windows or linuxmachine for rendering, if the projects come from a mac?

And are there any requirements for this renderingmachine?

Liquify brush disappeared.

I've been working with the liquify tool on a pre-comp, and now I can't see the brush anymore.

The liquify brush is not showing up even if I load a new liquify effect on a new pre-comp..

 

Do you have any suggestion?

After Effects CCC Issue

Well, I downloaded After Effects CC and got the "You can't use this version of 'Adobe After Effects CC version 12.0" message. So I decided to update with the newest update (12.2.1). I did that. After that, I clicked on the DMG file, opened AdobePatchInstaller and Adobe Application Manager popped out and had this message. "Update failed. Updates could not be applied. Please contact your Administrator if you wish to apply updates on your machine. Updates have been suppressed by the Administrator." I don't know what to do. Is the Application Manager an older version? I don't think so. I can't figure this out. Someone help me.

but its size after exporting is too large and i need to reduce its size

"RAM preview needs 2 or more frames to render playback" AE CC

This issue started out of nowhere for what I consider to be no reason. Working on average sized 720p compositions with modest animations.

 

I have tried all suggested solutions on this forum yet nothing has worked. I am running fresh comps in AE CC with absolutely no plugins, freshly purged memory, cleaned cache, restarted comp, no other applications running on computer and 13 gb of memory allocated to AE... etc.

 

I cannot seem to fix this issue.

 

Whats the next step?

Mask Shape to Path Issue

So, I'm probably doing something stupid, but here goes.

 

I imported a Null, and drew a shape with the pen tool.  Then, I clicked mask shape and copied it.  Finally, I pasted it on the Null's position.

 

So, what happens is that both the original mask shape and the path then shift in different directions, neither of which are where I originally drew the shape.

 

I tried this on when everything was 2D and when everything was 3D, but I can't get it to work right.

 

Any thoughts?  Thanks.

AE CS6 and Maverick

AE CS6 didn't get open by Mavericks and authomatic update under help didn't show any required update for AE. After many search in your forum I found the links to the updates for different verisons of AE CS6. Mine is 11.0.2 but the update (AfterEffectsTrial-11.0.2-mul-AdobeUpdate.dmg ) didn't get install and I kept receiving the folllowing message.

Installation failed. Error Code: U44M2P7

Finally I updated whatever was available under help-

tried the same file for 11.0.2 and failed again.

Installed  AfterEffectsTrial-11.0.4-mul-AdobeUpdate.dmg

And now Mavericks can open AE CS6 .

After Effects CS6 stopped working after Mavericks install

I started getting a - You cant use this version of the application "Adobe After Effects CS6 with this version of OS X 10.9.1 - You have Adobe After Effects CS6" 11.0 - all my other Adobe CS6 programs are working - photoshop, premiere, bridge ect. Is this a delete and re install or is there a way around this problem?

Audio will not render at 48,00kHz

The last update fixed the issue of audio rendering only at 8,000. Now, however, no audio will render at 48,000. Files rendered at ANY codec (ProRes, H264, Animation) all the same problem.

 

Only get audio in renders when I drop settings down to 44,100 kHz.

 

 

AE 12.2.1.5

10.9.1 Build 13B42

2x2.93 6-Core Xeon

20GB RAM

Cuando previsualizo mi composición el vídeo se me mueve abajo a la derecha, de tal manera que solo puedo ver un cuarto de la imagen. ¿Qué puedo hacer?

Rendering

I am looking to make a bunch of After Effects CC animations from a template.  I want batch render these, because I know it is going to take a long time to render.  So I want to set this up and walk away for the night.  I want to slightly alter the file and separately render each file.  For example:  I want to make an animation of a number.  I send that to render.  Then I want to change that number, and then render that.  And then change the number again, and then render that.  Is it possible to do this in a batch rendering process?  Everytime I try to do this, using the render queue, the first render, is changed to the last one.  I know this may be confusing, but I would love any insight into this!

Yesterday I somehow managed to create a wonderful, "time saving" for sure, folder full of AE frames rendered as tifs.  Now I can only get one frame of a file that has close to 700 frames.  "Composition/Save Frame As/ File/Render Queue/Output Module Settings/Tiff Sequence/Render" continually creates a single frame.  What am I doing wrong?
