Make a null object draw a line

I am trying to make null object create a line. The intended effect is to have a line attach to a person's head as he climbs across the screen. How would I create this effect? I have already created a null object and it is a solid track. I just don't know how i am supposed to turn the track data into a line. I am trying to show where his head has been as he climbed the wall.
