After Effects Warning: Illegal Command Sequence

Hello!

 

I have been trying to open a few older projects, and when I do I keep getting the same dialogue box : After Effects Warning: Illegal Command Sequence

 

I have to hit OK over 50+ times (the box just keeps popping back up), and once it finally goes away, the project just closes. I am unable to access the project in any way.

 

Does anyone have any advise on how I can get these projects to open?

 

I have had success opening these projects on a coworkers computer, which leads me to believe there is something wrong with my after effects program. I have also uninstalled and re-installed after effects. I am running the latest CC version.

Can't use assets from CC Library anymore?

Until recently, I could drag a vector asset from my CC Library into the After Effects Project panel, and then use it in AE.

 

Now, when I do the same thing, the resulting item in the project panel is no longer an Ai-file, but an empty placeholder? And in some cases, even though I for example drag my own company logo from the Library panel into the Project panel, it's not only a placeholder, but it tells me to license the file through Adobe Stock?! What is going on?

 

How can I fix this to again to be able to use Library assets in After Effects?

3D Camera Track Help

Having a lot of trouble 3D tracking this shot and was wondering if anyone could maybe help me out and give me some advice. I have linked the clip below and want to do a 3D camera track so I can place 3D text using Element 3D in the entrance way between the silhouette wood posts in the foreground but when I run a 3D camera track all it will track is the trees in the background. I thought this would be a pretty simple track and I have even tried masking out just the bottom of the shot but then the camera wont solve. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Also sorry if I posted this in the wrong place. didn't really see a forum that revolved around just general advice in the community.

Audio Spectrum with lightnings or waves?

Hey guys I have a few questions to AE, because I couldn't find something in the internet and maybe someone can help me producing these following things, or if this is even possible to make.

 

I make music and with After Effects I put some Audio Spectrums along with the music.

This is my latest production (only a picture but imagine these circle bouncing to the beat).

 

Now to my questions:

1. I want that my Logo "jumping out" with the beat. I already watched many Youtube videos producing this but I couldn't imitate this (for example this: How To Make Logo Jump In After Effect CS6 2016 - YouTube). I tried this but after I use the Keyframe-Assistent my Audio Spectrums don't bounce to the beat so maybe there is a problem with the connection with the music?

 

Here are my files which I use in After Effects:

2. Is it possible to put some lightnings in the background, which come up along with the beats, just like a Audio Spectrum with lightnings?

3. Is it possible to produce waves, which go off along with the beats (outgoing from the center)?

 

I hope someone can help me with my project!

Masks with random Opacity

Hello,

 

I hope someone can help me here.

I have one Layer in After Effects with like 2000 Masks in it.

 

Is there a way to animate the Opacity randomly on each Mask without touching every Mask individually, so that every Mask blends in at a different time.

 

Here is a Picture:

Every single Point should blend in randomly.

AE2017 Preview only plays 1s frame over and over again

     I'm trying to preview my video in after effects and I have tried numerous methods and can't seem to figure this out. All it ever does when i press space bar or the play button is play 1sec loop and the green loading bar doesn't load much. Everything worked fine until I tried to preview. I also went into edit and then preference and memory and made it so that after effects uses 7.9gb of my 8GB RAM.

 

My PC has:

8gb of RAM (questioning this)

windows 10

asus motherboard crosshair v formula

Radeon hd 6770 vapor-x

64 bit

AMD FX(tm)-6100 Six-Core Processor, 3311 Mhz, 3cores, 6 logical processors

1TB

not sure if anything else is needed.

Animated loops glitch when exported thru AME from After Effects

Been animating and encoding seamless loops for many years lately when I create animations in AE that loop seamlessly in both Premiere or AE they have a glitch at the loop when played back in Quicktime player, or VLC or any number of players.

 

I'm using AME to encode

 

If I export to Pro Res HQ and they loop in QT player fine

If I export to Pro Res LT or MP4, there is a glitch at the end. Its not the animation because I can step through and see it moving smoothly.

I can also create the loop in Premiere by butting the clip against itself several times and export in MP4 and gain proper playback

 

Any help is welcome

Disappearing Layers in Composition

Hello !

 

I would request a bit of help.

I recently been working on a project that needs a composition of arround 2 hours.

The problem began when layers from the beggining started to dissapear, I could still edit them or see them in the preview tho.

I have attached a screenshot.

Any help would be appreciated !

After Effects can't continue: unexpected failure during application startup

When I try to open up After Effects CC 2017 I get this (I've opened as administrator and I get the same thing):eyJ1cmwiOiJodHRwczovL2kuZ3lhem8uY29tL2U2OGIzZjlhZTA1ZjcxODlmMDQ1OWMyNDMyN2MwNWI0LnBuZyJ9.png

When I close this tab I get this:

Then I when I click OK it takes me to this website: troubleshooting issues with downloading and installing After Effects | Creative Cloud blog by Adobe

I've looked through the troubleshooting options and nothing pertains to my issue

 

I've uninstalled and reinstalled like 10 times. I've uninstalled all my plugins for After Effects and still nothing.

 

System Info:

Windows 7 Home Premium

Intel i7-4790k

16 GB RAM

GTX 980

Adobe Bridge 2017 not placing Presets into After Effect 2017

I have upgraded to CC 2017. When I got into After Effect 2017 and just type out a text. I go to the into the effects and presets panel and click on browse presets, which opens into Bridge 2017. I drill down into Text, animate in and if I double click on any of the content…Nothing happens. The text layer is selected. I have also right click on the preset and selected place in adobe after effect. Nothing ever happens. Do I need to change a setting?

Problem - Images appear stretched when imported

Hi guys,

 

Am just getting my head around AE so apologies if this seems rather n00b... I've had a good read around but simply can't find out what I'm doing wrong here...

 

I have setup a new composition which is HDV 1080 25 and 1440px X 1080px, 25fps, which matches some video footage I'll be importing. Okay so far!

 

The problem I'm having is that when I import images (from PS or Illustrator for example), they are loosing their aspect ratio and appear too tall. I can stretch them out horizonally a bit, but this obviously isn't best practice.

 

Could it be something to do with 4:3 / 16:9 settings somewhere? FYI the images are importing about 33% stretched. I have checked the composition settings and tried unticking 'lock aspect ratio 4:3 (1.33)' but this doesn't seem to have made a difference.

 

Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

EDIT: Sorry forgot to mention, in composition settings I've now changed the Pixel Aspect Ratio to 'Square Pixels' and the images are importing as they should be now. However, this means that my 16:9 video footage is now too wide for the compostion and now stretches horizontally beyond the canvas. How on earth do I bridge the gap to ensure both video and images appear as they should do? Thanks for your help!

Recurring issue exporting composition as text template

After Effects will not even give me the option to export that, whether I try under the compositions tab or the files tab. I am making new text layers in an old after effects file from Version 11.0.4 (Windows 64) that converts to the file supported by the version of After Effects that I am using (After Effects CC 2017.0 Release Version 14.0.1.5). I am able to make new text layers in After Effects and animate them along with the original elements of the file I'm using but when I attempt to convert it to a text template to be able to edited in Premiere, it does not give me the option. I have tried several different options to try and find a way to be able to export as a text template but I am unable to in this file. When I created a new file in After Effects just to see if I could get it to work, it had no issue exporting the text template. Is it because of the old file type? Will I have to recreate this composition from scratch in the new version of After Effects?

 

Apologies if I worded things incorrectly or didn't provide enough info! I'm a newbie when it comes to After Effects and I'm just trying to get the text file template to work.

How do interpret footage in After Effects with S-Log3?

I am currently working with some footage shot on a Sony F55 in the Raw format with S-Log3. When I import this footage into Premiere it defaults to Rec709 but I can easily change that in the master effect to S-Log3. The problem is I am going to be working with these files in After Effects. When I bring that same video into After Effects it automatically interprets it as Rec709. If I go to Interpret footage for the video I see in the bottom left corner a button that says "More Options...". In that window I can select Rec709 or S-Log2. I don't see the option for S-Log3. How can I interpret footage in After Effects with S-Log3?

Delete Projects in Open Recent Projects List

I am presently using AE CS6.  I trial functions by opening a project that does not provide results so I delete the project in File Explorer.  The project remains when I open the recent projects list.

 

Apart from information on the Internet to set to default or to delete from a questionable program internal file, is there a way of removing a non existent project from the list when I start AE?

AE won't work with reconnected audio device, refuses to playback renders

My daily setup is working in AE while using a pair of bluetooth headphones as my primary audio device. Every night, I turn off the headphones to charge, which changes the default audio device being used by Windows. In AE, the Headphones are still set as the preferred hardware but with a "(Not Working)" notation next to them on the list.

 

In the morning, when I turn my headphones on, they once again become the default Audio device, and the "(Not Working)" notification in AE goes away. However, AE will refuse to play back any footage. The only way to get it to work again is to navigate to Audio Hardware preferences, select a different audio device, and then re-select my headphones, even though they were already properly chosen.

 

My issue is more an annoyance than anything else, but the fact that I go through this dance *every* day made me want to pass the issue forward.

 

Running latest version of AE (CC 2017) on Windows 10. My headphones are Bose AE2 Soundlink Stereo model, but I have had similar issues in the past with USB headsets.

Blank error when trying to run After Effects

I'm trying to run the Japanese version of After Effects CC2015 or CC2017 on my English Windows 10.

 

I have tried:

A. Creating a ae_force_japanese.txt file just as Alan Eddie mentioned

Result: Nothing different happens when I launch AE

B. Uninstalling After Effects, changing my CC App Language in the preferences and reinstalling

Result: After Effects launches with a blank error and runs incredibly slow (in English)

After effects - Change timeline to seconds

Hi,

 

Im just starting into After effects, while trying a few tutorials i have noticed my timeline goes 00001,00002,00003 etc, whereas the tutorials i am following timelines go 1s,2s,3s etc. How do i change mine. I know its probably a simple process but iv tried everything.

 

I have attached 2 pics to show what i mean incase I'm not clear.
