Can't view or play imported videos on After Effects

Hello!

 

I've just downloaded the 7-day trial for After Effects CC 2019 and managed to use it without a problem for about an hour. Eventually, I had to scrap my project and start again, which is where I encountered my problem. Any videos I import show up as a black screen on the project, which doesn't change when I drag the time indicator along the project. When I press play, the project doesn't play and I get the spinning wheel which freezes up the entire application until I have to force quit it. I tried just using pictures, which went fine until I added the video as well. Afterward, the image showed up as the same black image that I am unable to do anything with. The only thing I've managed to find out is that when I change the background color of the project, that color is the one that I get instead of the black screen so I'm hoping it's just something to do with the background but I am very new to this software so I'm pretty clueless. Any help would be much appreciated!

CC 2018 Not importing psd layers

I'm trying to import a psd into after effects to animate individual layers, like I've always done, but I'm just getting a single, flat psd layer. Even if I choose to import as comp and select retain layer sizes. Help?

How do I remove a rotating display stand from a video while keeping what is on the stand intact?

So I am creating a video for one of our networking products.  I have the product on a 6" electric rotating base.  The product itself is a 3.9 x 3.9 x 1.0 in. (99.8 x 98 x 25 mm) rectangle.  I've tried to to use the Clone Stamp tool in After Effects, which works partly.  The problem is that because the device is rotating i cannot completely remove all of the display stand or i risk parts of my product being masked or removed as well.   I'm a novice but i can follow direction with the best of them.  I also have access to adobe cloud so if there is a particular program in the adobe suite i would need to use other than After Effects please let me know.  I'm scouring the internet but so far i have not found anything that will really work in my situations.

cant get this to work. please help/mask problem

have those pictures, my problem is, first i right a text. thats fine, then i open 3d element, come back to AE, and then looks like the last pictures, and if i scale it up by the red line (mask) then i looks bad, so thinking im doing somthing wrong here.. please help

Layer Hits Error When Using Variable in Expression Linked to Slider

I'm using Dan Ebberts' inertial bounce code. If I leave the variables as simple assignments, like below, it works:

 

amp = .25;
freq = 2.0;
decay = 6.0;



n = 0;

However, if I create and link Sliders to modify those variables (so as to do so globally within the file) it catches an error:

The error is:

"Error at line 19 in property 'Scale' of layer 18 ("Title_of_Layer") in comp 'Title_of_Comp'. Invalid numeric result (divide by zero?)., an expression was disabled as a result of an error."

 

Any insights on why? The variables are (in theory) identical. I'm sure I'm just missing something in the fundamentals. Thanks for any help!

So, I've been struggling with this issue for many hours now. I've been trying to use the 3D Camera Tracker on a couple video files (mpeg and mp4), and have been getting the "After Effects error: Could not launch Adobe Analysis Server. (515) ( 25 :: 101 )". and stabilisation of deformation VFX, I also get the same error... Why??

AE MOTION TRACKER IS GARBAGE

I've noticed for sometime now, but today it really has come to head... in After Effects, i have noticed that you can track something perfectly (manually frame by frame of course, AE on it's own can't track anything)... so with the tracking done and the info added to either a null object or a effect (in this case, the distortion mesh offset in the Liquify effect) hit apply and what do you get? THE TRACK GOING ALL OVER THE PLACE NO WHERE NEAR WHERE THE TRACK EVER WAS!!! YOU CAN SEE IT IN THE EFFECT, CAN SEE IT IN THE MESH WHEN TICKING IT FOR VIEWING, EVEN THE F***ING TRACK WIRE FRAME CAN BE SEEN DIPPING BELOW WHERE A TRACK MARK EVER WAS.

 

WHAT IS THIS? WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY?

 

IT FLAT OUT DOES NOT WORK!!!!!!!

 

The track looks accurate before applied to anything, once applied all the work is completely ruined...

 

pretty infuriating... not sure anyone has a solution as it IS 100% the software being a worthless dumper fire no where near worth what it is costing it's users.

AE and AME 2019 crashing a lot

Hi all,

 

I've updated today to AE 2019, including AME 2019.

I'm using a Windows-64 based system with:

  • Intel i7 (7th generation)
  • 32GB Ram
  • Nvidia Quattro
  • 2 screens, both 4K

 

The crashes are not necessarily related to a specific action, but I would like to share with you the crash logs. Where does the SW store it crash logs for you to investigate?

 

The only thing I can find at the moment are Windows eventviewer logs like:

I have about 20 more instances of crashes, all with different kind of projects. Small ones, big ones.

The software seems fundamentally more unstable.

A recommendation like "have you tried clearing your preferences" will not help. I have I tried this 10 times.

The graphics drivers are also state of the art. I have even performed a rollback to previous Nvidia Driver. No result.

 

Happy to hear. I'm open to sharing more crash logs

The Adobe software does not catch the exceptions (like you would expect in professional software), but Windows has to catch the exception as shown above.

360 VIDEO: Importing and compositing 3D objects from cinema 4d into AE

Dear people,

 

I have a 360 video in after-effects, perfectly stitched and recorded from a tripod.

I want to add 3d objects into in the 360 scene.

In after effects i want to turn around with the camera and that the 3d objects stay in place.

 

How add the scene into cinema 4d? and how to save or export from cinema 4d to after effects?
and switch back and forward to make changes?

After Effects Extremely Blurry While Continuous Rasterize On

I have made some vector grapics and imported them into Affter Effects and they are extremely blurry. Even while the continuous rasterize option is on for all layers. Furthermore some of them are shape layers within After Effects itself!

As you can see my resolution is set to "Full" and my fast previews is set to "off".
And because I have already searched for this issue and read some of the reply's to the others, I know to let you know, that; yes both the illustrator and aftereffects are set to RBG.

 

Even after rendering this to h.264 match source high bitrate (the comp size is 1920 x 1080) the video it outputs is also blurry.after render.PNG

Interlaced footage looks way different from source

Hey guys,

 

I was recently tasked with some wire removal work which I did in AE (mostly using CC Simple Wire Removal).  I did the work and it looks great in the comp window and in a progressive export.  I did an interlaced export also but only scrubbed it as I had already QC'd the progressive.  I sent the clip in and they sent it back to clean up a couple of spots where the wire shows back up.  So, I bring the clip into AE and none of the problem areas I can see when looking at the clip in QT are present in the footage once imported in AE - meaning AE is doing something to this footage on the way in. I did of course check the footage interpolation settings, and the are set to separating (upper).  I don't understand then why the imported footage looks so different.  I can't very well fix the problem footage if I can't see the problem, so this is pretty big pickle I find myself in.

 

Any ideas?

Display Acceleration Disabled- Adobe CC 2019

I am using Adobe 16.0.1 on Windows 10 machine running the latest (as of Dec 12) NVIDIA drivers. I have two RTX 2070 GPUs. After Effects keeps telling me Display Acceleration is disabled. How do I fix this?

by this I mean, when it done can it save the product directly to my drive.

Hello, I have a small problem with After effects CC 2019 and Adobe Media Encoder CC 2019.

in after effects: "Composition --> Add to Adobe Media Encoder Queue", my project is not in the queue.

When I drag my.aep file (after effects) into Media Encoder there is nothing in "Composition"

I want to put my file in H.264.

Sorry, I speak French.

Please help me.

multiple aerender instances show multiple "Repeated Frame" messages when run in parallel

I'm running several instances of aerender, and the logs keep showing this "Repeated Frame" message:

Motion V2 Not working on updated iMac Pro

Hi all,

 

After upgrading to an iMac Pro, i tried reinstalling the Motion V2 plugin from Mt. Mograph. Every time I start After Effects I am greeted with the error message:

"Unable to Execute Script at Line 6: Invalid Image Data" where the panel shows up, but no buttons or functions are visible.

 

I followed all installation instructions properly, and also applied any common fixes I was able to find searching on the web (closing the libraries panel, making sure my general settings were set to "Allow scripts to write files and access networks"). I've restarted the program and my computer multiple times to no no luck. Downloading the previous version of After Effects also yielded no results as well.

 

I have got the plugin to work on a regular iMac updated to the latest After Effects. So I'm not sure if the issue lies with the plugin, Adobe, or my iMac pro.

Video distortion

Hey guys,

 

I've suddenly got this weird stuff going on in my AE preview and layer panels.

It displays these bars on top of my footage, about half of the time, always with different colors and intensity. It only happens when I put my render resolution lower than 100% / full.

 

I suspect it has something to do with my graphics card? Although, so far, I've only been able to reproduce the problem in After Effects. Premiere Pro works fine.

 

Specs:

Intel Core i7-8750H CPU @ 2.20GHZ

16GB ram

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060

AE 2019 Keeps Crashing

Hi all,

 

Have a very very annoying problem which i cant seem to fix,

The program will just randomly crash all the time which as you can imagine is very frustrating. I don't do anything in particular to cause the crash, a lot of the time it happens when i just let it sit for a couple of minutes making it even harder to identify the problem

 

I'm using the latest version of After effects, i tried to go to an older version only to find that none of my dynamic links work

 

System specs are

 

Xeon 1240 V5

Quadro P2000

32gb of Ram

Windows 10 (all updated)

 

As for crash logs - I tried to look in the logs folder only to find nothing there so no idea

 

Any help would be very greatly appreciated
