After Effects freezes with an auto-save pop up at starting

Hi Everyone.

I need some help on AE program.

 

 

This problem has started after I changed the name of the HDD while the program is still running by mistake.

 

By changing the name, Missing file error messages came up and then AE stopped.

 

So I choosed to quit AE by force, and tried to reopen the project file.

 

 

However, every time I try to open this file, AE launches and it says there are some missing files. So I hit the return key, then the auto-save window pops up and then the program immediately freezes. Then again I have to shut down the AE.

 

 

Each time I quit the AE by force, a new file appears with [original aep name_1, 2, 3...].aep and it goes on forever like this but none of them properly work.

 

 

Does anyone know why this is happening and maybe how to solve it?

 

 

so far, there are no troubles to open other aep files even with those missing errors. I just need to simply hit return key and relocate the missing files.

 

 

but now I am a little afraid and worried to open other files, thoese too might be get damaged.

 

Do you suggest to change the HDD’s name again like it was used to?

 

 

Maybe it seems silly but I am quite serious and desperate cause this HDD has this whole year’s project in it.  

 

If there’s no solution about the first ques tion, that’s fine. But I need some advices on the second one, badly.

[AE CC 2018] Working with proxies: little FAQ

Hi everyone,
I'm starting to use footage in 4K and I would like to use Proxi in AE to better manage the limited resources of my PC.So I would have a few preliminary questions about it:
1 - With a comp proxi, the graphics (Shape) and the texts generated in AE will then have the same dimensions and resolutions as the original comp in 4K?
2 - Same thing for vector files imported into AE?
3 - Both tracking (2d or 3D) and - if need be - a subsequent stabilization, should instead be done at full resolution (to take advantage of the higher resolution).
So I wonder if these operations (tracking and / or stabilize) can also be done using the proxi, since they will actually be done at full resolution in the background?

Oi! Atualizei meu after para a versão mais recente 2019.1. Entretanto, ocorre erros para os caracteres especiais (quando abro caixa de texto e digito qualquer caractere especial como: @,?,! - ele dá erro e fecha o programa). E desde que ocorreu este erro, o after trava a todo momento. Eu abro o programa, e do nada ele trava. E preciso ficar forçando o fechamento dele. Sou usuária de Windows. Tive que voltar para a versão 16.0, mas o problema do fechamento continua. É algum problema no windows?

4K Monitor: slow UI / not realtime RAM Preview

Hello,

 

Since working on a 4K monitor, After Effects UI is very slow and although the preview is fully cached to RAM, it does not play in real time.

 

I've read about a workaround for this issue, which also works for me: overwriting high dpi scale by the system. When using this option, it runs smooth and fast.

But it makes the UI blurry and that's why I am looking for a better solution.

 

The not real-time RAM preview issue is solved by choosing the "Full Screen" preview option. But the very slow/choppy UI happens all the time when not using the previously mentioned setting.

 

Windows 10 latest Build 17134,472

Intel Xeon E3-1231 v3 @ 3.4GHz

RAM 32 GB

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 (latest Driver)

Monitor: AOC U3277PWQU

After Effects, Footage, and Cache on separate SSDs

 

I have tried to activate/deactivate Hardware Accelerate Composition, Layer, and Footage Panels, with no impact on performance.

 

 

Any tips for this issue?

Another newbie question: is After Effects the right program for what I want to do?

I'm teaching myself After Effects. All of the tutorials I've seen so far focus on combining video and graphics, like opening credits for a movie.

 

What I am interested in doing is creating some vector graphics in Illustrator and then using keyframing in AE to blend them together. i.e. I will draw scenes "A" and "E", and expect AE to supply scenes "B" "C" and "D".

 

Is this the right program for that?

Alpha Channel Video for Stream Overlay

Hi all,

 

I have googled my little heart out trying to find a solution.. if there even is one..

 

Long story short, I have been asked to create a small set of animations to be used as a streamers cut scene transition..

 

The clip has a transparent background and will not be used in any other post production - it simply needs to be the video file with the transparent background.

 

I have exported out as lossless with animation and this does work.. however the file size is 1GB for an 11sec clip - Any suggestions to reduce this at all?

Issue with AE CS6 on Mac 10.14.2

Adobe After Effects does not work on Mac 10.14.2. I'm getting the following error:

You can’t use this version of the application “Adobe After Effects CS6” with this version of macOS.

You have “Adobe After Effects CS6” 11.0.

After Effects Suspended

I keep on having issues with After Effects CC 2018 hanging on me. In the task manager it tells me that the status of the program is "Suspended". I'm working with a multi-layer EXR file from V-Ray, and its happening quite a lot... Fix needed asap. After a few minutes of being suspended, the file shows the save dialog then immediately disappears.

After effects showing several frames of my timeline are glitchy (Pic below)

I'm using Ae 2019 update.  I've been working in a particular template for a while and I'm now, all the sudden, having a problem where a few frames in my timeline appear to be corrupt or damaged.  I tried re-opening the program to see if it went away but, no bueno.  Also, when I render to a quicktime or mp4 (or any other format), the glitches are still present.  below is an example of what it looks like.  Anyone know what the problem is here and possible how to solve it?

Flat, Stroked Graphics in 3D?

Howdy, folks!

I'm working on a project right now that requires some 3D animation displayed as a flat, stroked graphic.

I've not had any luck on ol' Youtube.

 

Here's an example I made:

The goal is to be able to control the rotation of these individual letters/shapes like a 3D shape (Without just extruding each shape and frame in Illustrator like I did for the example).

I'm on a tight deadline (and, consequently, pretty freaked out), so any and all help is greatly appreciated!

When you use After Effects, Photoshop, or Premiere programs, the program suddenly turns off, and the application is blocked from accessing the graphics hardware. Is there a solution?

Adobe After Effects cc 2017 - Audio slows down and then speeds up at random

So i just got after effects cc 2017 and it seems that everytime i try to preview my footage. the audio will slow down and speed up at random times,

the footage seems to work out fine but its just the audio its really annoying because im just trying to edit my stuff.

Hello, i wanna do some easy set-up, when i want just apply to one layer some FX like:

 

Transform

 

-blending

 

Transform

 

 

i just wanna apply two transform effects to the same layer but not to be affected to each other but to be blended to each other with different settings, is there some way how to do it? I do not want to have two layers with each transform effedct on each other...

Exporto video y la imagen sale lavada (washed colors)

Hola, ultimamente estoy teniendo un problema y es que cada vez que exporto un video en after effects, me cambia completamente el color. La imagen sale lavada, como si estuviera desaturada. He probado de todo y no se que hacer.

 

En illustrator y en After Effects los colores con los que trabajo son correctos, no me los cambia cuando importo los archivos de AI a AE. El problema viene al exportar, que es cuando me los cambia. He probado en exportar en h.264 y ProRes 244 y me da el mismo resultado. Estoy trabajando con este ajuste de color, que es con el que he trabajado siempre.

Tampoco hago nada raro en ajustes de exportación.

 

¿Alguien sabe que puede estar pasando? Ya no se si es algo de que tengo que cambiar algun parametro en illustrator, after effects o hacer algun ajuste de color general en bridge.

Flipping a Keyframe Chart

I need to flip my keyframes for opacity.

I am using the graph to align the keyframes and I need to flip them all to exactly their opposite values.

So all the ones on 100 percent opacity need to go to 0, 90 to 10 etc.

The reason it has to be flipped precisely is because it is coordinated with other animations.

 

I am quite new to after effects.

I would appreciate any help, thanks.

After Effects - footage is green in the preview??

Whenever I import my footage into AE the preview box shows it as green with some lines, almost like a static screen. If I double-click on the clip to choose my start and end points, it previews as normal. However, once I put it into my composition it is green again.  This is only when I have the preview set to half or below. When it's on full it shows the correct colors and everything, but the clip glitches a LOT. Also, this could be unrelated, but my AE is crashing after I do almost anything. Not sure what that is about but maybe it's related.

I've double checked that I have RGB selected--I do.

I've purged and erased my media and disk cache.

I've checked for updates on my drivers--I'm up to date.

I've tried starting over and making a new project, reformatting my videos to be smaller or .mov instead of .mp4.

 

Nothing works. My AE is up to date. I am using CC 2018, on a Windows 10 laptop with a memory of 8gb and a core i5 processor.

 

I am so lost. I don't know how to fix this. Any help is appreciated.

"Unknown BIB error", anybody ever actually fix this?

So I haven't used AE for about a year. I have V7 but had installed a trial of CS5.5 and that has expired so I uninstalled it. But V7 is now telling me "After Effects warning: Unknown BIB Error, Invalid encoding BRV 0.

 

The only thing I can find searching the web is "you have a FONT problem, uninstall the problem font" or similary vague responses.

 

This makes absolutely no sense. WHICH font? Come on Adobe, can't we give me a solution? It worked fine for over a year, and after installing CS5.5 too.

Multiple Animations on Single Text Layer

Hi All,

 

Fairly new to AfterEffects but not new to Adobe products.

 

I want to apply more than one effect into a single text layer but I can't figure it out. For example, I have created a sale graphic where the text uses a 'Fade In' animation but after a couple of seconds I want the '50%' layer to have a new animation where the size will be emphasised (repeatedly growing and shrinking or similar). Every line of text is on a separate layer so the '50%' has its own layer and can be manipulated individually. I'm guessing i can maybe insert some sort of new keyframe or something similar but i'm literally stumped as to what to do next?

 

I've trawled the tutorials and Google but can't seem to find the answer. Many thanks in advance for your help.

After Effects Stuck Off Screen

I opened After Effects on my 15 inch macbook pro, and the only part of the application window I can see the very bottom. I can't work in it, and I can't even find the options to resize the window. It's just stuck off screen.

 

The only solution I found is to System Preferences > Displays > Scaled... Then I choose another size text and if I go smaller it's fully on screen but obviously much bigger text and less work area. Please help.
