When I try and render in After Effects, it shows up compressed into my files. I use AVI (+have tried other formats), but when I render the composition size is sort of put into a rectangle. It kind of looks like it was squeezed into a 4:3 size and I don't know how to fix it. My original composition was 640x1080 and I have a frame rate of 59.94. I tried using quicktime but it still rendered the same and the H.264 won't show up (I use windows)

composition preview not playing
Hi,
I have this issue with my Adobe After Effects CC 2017 that when I click play to watch the preview, it pauses instantly so I can't watch it at all. Because of this, I can't render my project fully as the composition has to pre-render first (the green bar)? I have a 4 GB Toshiba Laptop, not the best but it makes do. I've atatched a screenshot for my screen if you need anymore tell me.

New Tutorial: keyframeable tracked masks with the mocha Plugin that is bundled with CC 2019 and MochaImport+ V6
Hi everyone,
I just made this tutorial explaining how to create masks that move with a mocha track and still can be keyframed on top of the track.
If you move masks with the mask tracker or by importing a mask from mocha, you have a keyframe on each frame, which makes it almost impossible to tweak the mask shape later. In contrast to that, MochaImport+ applies an expression to the mask shape in order to move it with the track. This expression also supports keyframes - so you can add keyframes on top of the track to easily adust the shape where necessary.

vektorgraphics into aftereffects
Hi there,
i want to aktivate the sun-symbol in after effects for my vektor-graphics to optimate them. It's working with one file, with the others its not working. But i dont see any difference between the files. Does anybody has an idea why its not working?
and i have a camera in the video. if i activate the sun symbol for a composition, the camera is not working anymore.
i hope someone can help me!

Die zweite Frage die ich habe: ich habe unterkompositionen in meiner Datei, sobald ich dort das Sonnensymbol aktiviere funktioniert meine Kamerafahrt nicht mehr. warum ist das so? kann ich etwas dagegen tun?

Yet another curves effect bug
In this efect, your cursor somehow changes on its own to a pencil when keyframing the effect, and you can no longer change the entire line as there is no button to turn the pencil back to a cross so you can move the entire line.
Anyone else experience this? I sent Adobe a bug report on it, perhaps there is a current workaround.

Parenting problem ?? what's going on ? weird results
Hi everyone, Did something change in the last updates of After effects? I being using AE for decades... yes decades, since version 3.1 but today I just can't do a simple parenting...
maybe there is a hidden preference somewhere.... this never happened to me.
So layer B is parented to A.
Layer A is in a different position and it has some scale applied, no animation so far. Normal result would be as soon as you parent layer B to layer A any new modification over layer A will be apply also to layer B. Well when I parented the Layer B to layer A it automatically copy the distorsion and position of the layer A instead of remain untouch and move or deform with any new adjustmente over layer A.
??????? what's going on here? Can't believe I'm stucked on something like this

bug? applying 'roughen edges' distorts edges of shapes
Not sure what's going wrong, but when I apply "roughen edges" effect to a layer, it ends up shifting the edge of the masked layer even after I remove "roughen edges" effect. I've never seen this happen before until today. But if you look closely at the second image below, you can see that the edge of the masked green shape has slightly shifted. It doesn't make sense because I simply duplicated the red image and changed it's color to green. Then after applying the roughen edge effect, the edge of the duplicated shape (green) shifted slightly so that the green shape is not longer exactly over the red shape. Even after removing the roughen edge effect the problem remains. Has anyone else run into this problem?

After Effects and Media Encoder CC 2019 crash while rendering
I am having problems with After Effects and Media Encoder crashing while rendering. I have called tech support, no help there. I have called a tech to see if it is my PC he worked on it for hours and said it was a software issue. I have now waited on hold now for 3.5 hours for Adobe tech support. Frustrated beyond words this has been going on for weeks I keep sending the crash reports , do they go into a black hole or do they tell what the problem is. This problem started with the last update a couple of weeks ago, it was working fine before that. Any suggestions?

After Effects crashing on Startup (GPUSniffer)
Hi,
i do experience an issue for a while, where i am unable to start Adobe After Effects CC 2017. I get the following message:
I get this message on AE CC 2019, 2018 and 2017 (all these versions became unusable). When launching the GPUSniffer it detects my GPU (Nvidia GeForce GTX 960), but notices me with "not choosen because of a initalization failure".
I updated my Nvidia drivers, rolled back older ones, updated anything that could affect this. I uninstalled/reinstalled AE multiple times using the Adobe Cleaner. I started my PC in Safe-mode and still got this error message. I sent a Crash Report to Adobe quite a while ago but never got reply. I dont use any Plug-Ins and i already rolled-back any preferences and settings - no luck.
My System:
Adobe Creative Cloud
Windows 10 64-Bit
Intel I7 3.4Ghz
Nvidia GeForce GTX 980
16 GB RAM
I would appreciate any help, since i am basically out of solutions and pretty close to just uninstall and cancel my Adobe-Account.

Element 3d showing flat 2d image in composition
Hi I've just got Element 3D when I try to import in to my composition the 3d object comes out in a 2d flat image, my computer has AMD Radeon HD 6670 is this causing the problem??

This is just frustrating
If i can recall on Dec 20th Adobe AE started acting up on me, I would open like i usually do but when i reached the point of starting a project and clicking it, after effects would just freeze for a few seconds then crash. What is this. Ive done everything ive seen online. I do hope Adobe fixes this frustrating thing. I had AE 2017 and thats when it started i tried to clean my system left with nothing btw and start on 2019 praying for it not to happen again but sure enough after the second time opening the app it did the same frustrating thing. Im trying so hard no to curse in this forum but this kind of thing bugs me and annoys me'
And pls dont bring media encoder fixes into this cause i tried those too

Shape layer does not show up!
Ok, so I've got a png file doing a flying in effect, but after the effect I want to have a white screen that goes into a transition. I'm doing it with a shape but the problem is the shape will not show up. It shows up when the png file is hidden but not while its active. The png file does have a transparent background. I'm fairly new to After Effects, does anyone have a fix for this?? Pictures are below to show what I am talking about

Hallo AE community
I have just started to use AE more in my business, but find it very slow on my iMac 5K 2017, RAID, 64 GB RAM, Radeon Pro 580 8GB
What would be more effective for AE only, a kick a** PC?
What is most important for AE, RMA, Processor, Graphics Card or a combination?
I have searched the net, but have not found any clear answers, that is why I ask here too.

After Effects 2019 Running Slow
I've updated my entire Adobe CC to the 2019 version only to find After Effects has a lot of delayed response. Even simple stuff like, scrubbing through the timeline with the playhead will have some serious lag to it. (Meaning, the playhead itself will be trying to catch up to my mouse movement) or dragging a shape layer around the timeline (same thing as the playhead...it will be lagging behind my mouse). This also goes for actions like duplicating layers, moving keyframes, changing the color of a shape layer. It all takes WAY longer than it should - like I was trying to do this on a super underpowered machine.
Playback itself isn't affected. Previews are still running fast and accurate.
Is this a hardware issue, or simply a 2019 update bug?

PSD import to AE freezes AE (CC2019 16.0.1)
Hi,
I cannot import PSD file into AE. It physically imports , but when I try to open the new composition (created by importing PSD) the program just stops responding. This happens with every psd file i have.
After downgrading to 16.0.0 - psd import works just fine.

Animate multiple objects along path
Hi,
I am looking for a way to animate multiple objects along a single path. Like a trail of objects following the same path in a "train".
Same thing that is happening in the second half of this tutorial with text: After Effects Tutorial: Get an object to follow a mask path - YouTube
But then with objects.
Seems simple enough, but can't find a way.
