As I open After Effects, the purple loading screen appears and it appears to be loading. As it starts to say 'Cleaning Up', a warning message appears. It says: "After Effects Warning: Invalid type conversion". After this pop-up disappears, another comes up saying: "After Effects error: Crash in progress. Last logged message was: <3256> <ae.blitpipe> <2> Making New Context". It then asks me to go to Adobe help. I don't know why it keeps crashing. Help please! (THIS IS ON A WINDOWS 7 PC, RUNNING AN INTEL i7 PROCESSOR, ADOBE AFTER EFFECTS v.12.2.1)

Rendering timelapsevideo with timewarp -problem
When i´m rendering out a video with still images (timelapse) i use Timewarp. I like to have Timewarp at 50%, but then i only get rendered half the images. If i have 500 images, only 250 gets rendered to the final QT-video. There must be a way to get all images in the video??

AE CS6 crashes on startup
Hello,
I use Windows 7 and AE CS 5 and 6. Everything worked fine and suddenly AE CS 6 crashes on startup. At the moment the panel appears where you must choose wich project you want to start everything dissapears from the screen.
In my harware nothing has changed. In the software neither as far as I am aware off.
I read some forums on the internet but I couldn't find any useful answer.
If anyone can help me towards a solution I would be very thankfull.

3D Stereoscopic
Hi! My name is Sebastian and i'm working on a 3D stereoscopic video, but really we're still starting so i need to figure things out... 
We will use some 3D renders/videos (with Alpha channel) from Blender, and then we will add them on a composition with maybe 2D backgrounds as static renders, or videos.
But my question is, whats the name of the 3D stereoscopic plugin for After Effects? (I know that the plugin exist thanks to this: http://helpx.adobe.com/after-effects/kb/stereoscopic-3d-effects.html)
Will we have to buy it apart from the Adobe Suit license? And what is better, creating the effect in Blender or in AE? I'm thinking of AE as the option because we can even add more 3D depth to layers right? 
Also i need to know if the 3D i'm asking for, is the 3D that work without glasses (but with an special Tv or screen)

after effects max allowed memory problem
max allowed memory only have 0.4 gb , but i have 16GB

Masking/Alpha Track Matte
I would like the effect of the alpha track matte - a transparent mask - but it seems to only work on text and shapes that are directly drawn in After Effects. Is there a way to get this to work with PNGs? I would like to use a transparent mask on moving PNGs.

cDNG Workflow questions and issues
This applies to both AE and PPro.
As far as i can tell, when a cDNG sequence is imported we get the ACR dialog. This is used to basically pregrade that file, create a 'look' for it, then we get the footage. However the footage we get appears to be a reduced section of the full file. In other words i don't get the full linear range of the DNG to work with in AE or PPro. If i reduce exposure on the file it acts like a sRGB jpeg and whites grey down. Whereas if i adjust exposure in the ACR dialog it works as i would expect.
Is this the case? What are we actually getting out of the source file?
All i want is full range linear from the DNG but this doesn't appear possible?

AE CC is so slow. Please Help.

64 GB RAM
1 TB HD
Dual AMD FirePro D700
Promise Pegasus Thunderbolt 2 R4 (RAID 0 on 3 drives, Pass Thru on the 4th)
Dual 27" Apple Cinema Displays
OS X 10.9.1
I'm using After Effects CC 12.2.1.5 and it's unbearably slow. There are long lags just clicking around the timeline. My comp has 350 layers in it using AE Script's Layer Monkey and Type Monkey. It's basically a bunch of pre-comped text that the camera flies around. There are a lot of layers, sure, but it's not very complicated, and there's not much happening on screen at the same time.
First, the RAM Preview choked if I even thought about pushing 0. Then, once I turned off the audio on all the layers (there was an .aiff VO marker track in each pre-comp) it was better- as in it actually moved- but still nowhere in the ballpark of fast.
Then I added some fractal noise in the background with some color correction. Wow. Did someone cram my old 2008 Mac Pro into this trash can? I'm so dissapointed. What could possibly be causing this to run so slow? Yes, I've read the "How to optimize AE" articles. My Disk Cache is on the internal 1TB SSD and it has plenty of room on it. The Pegasus gets about 600mb/s write and 480mb/s read, and the project is on that drive (the RAID 0 drive, not the slower, pass thru drive)- and it's all graphics, no footage. I've tried putting the project on my internal drive, too, and that didn't speed anything up.
I really hoped this computer was going to crush everything I threw at it. Now it's taking 10 minutes to RAM Preview 2 seconds at 50% resolution.
I also tried it in AE 6 with similar results. I find it hard to believe it's the computer... Adobe? Me?? Trust me, I hope I'm doing something stupid to make it this slow. Please, help me figure it out if you can... -s

navigation slow
I was going to post this to a new thread, but I seem to be having a similar problem.
I'm working in an entirely 2d comp (3894x720), doing some very simple text animation, and scaling/repositioning 1920x1080 video, totalling about 200 layers.
I just started having this problem, AE was working fine last night, but now all of my navigation within AE is very sluggish. Timeline marker takes anywhere from 2 to 6 seconds to appear where I click it, menus take just as long to pop up when I right click on a layer, even the cursor takes that long just to switch from regular black arrow to any other icon (for example when trying to extend a layer by dragging).
I have Fast Draft turned on for previews since I'm working in a 3-wide 1280x720 comp on an older machine. Video previews don't seem to be effected, it's just navigation.
I tried pre-comping as much as I could, but this had no effect. I also have the latest CC desktop and AE updates. A machine reboot had no effect.
I ran the activity monitor and found that when this was happening, my CPU usage for AE spiked up as high as 200% and never settled under 80%.

Vectors parented to Null Object will not follow tracking transform
I have watched countless tutorials on how to make text and other layers "follow" the tracking in video footage, but I can't reproduce it. I have a piece of illustrator art I want to use. I have imported it and converted it to shapes.
I apply the cool track camera feature to my video, select markers and create the red bullseye, and create camera and null object all with no problem. The Null object is moving exactly how it should, I can watch the XY values change. Then I parent the Null object to my art work layer but the artwork will not move. I tried the same thing with a solid--same result. My footage is a simple tripod pan. The null object moves from outside of the scene to the centre. I feel like if I wanted to track text it would be no problem because I would just select create camera and text. So it is the parenting that has me.
As you can see I am brand new to after effects so please answer as novice-speakly as you can. I am familiar with Adobe and have had no trouble understanding after effects until this. it seems like it should be working but it is not. Help please, should be an easy fix?

After Effects render farm on dedicated servers
Hello,
I haven't found clear information about this topic so sorry if I missed something.
I have a web project idea where users can create custom videos from their content (something like Animoto.com). Here is simplified workflow:
1. User uploads photos, add text and music.
2. This mdeia content sends to main server to After Effects project folder.
3. Server renders a video based on user's content.
4. User can review and buy the video from my web service.
1. Can I use After Effects render engine for such (commercial) service?
2. Do I need to buy some special license for this kind of task?
3. Do I need to buy separate full After Effects (CS6) version for all rendering machines (in my case multiple dedicated servers)?
