AVID MFX in AFTER EFFECTS IMPORT

Hello,

 

Ihave the following problem:

Howcan I importsequenceswithcut marksfrom AvidMediaComposer withthe codecDNXHD185 inAfter EffectsCS6? I've been usingProImport. Hereitcomesagain and againdamagedin an error messagethatisMXFformat. I appreciateany help!

Wie kann ich Sequenzen mit Schnittmarken von Avid Media Composer mit dem Codec DNX HD 185 in After Effects CS6 importieren? Ich habe bisher den Pro Import verwendet. Hier kommt es immer wieder zu einer Fehlermeldung das MXF Format beschädigt sei. Ich freue mich über jede Hilfe!

CS6 not importing .mp4 files

Hi everyone.  I am switching from cs5.5 to cs6.  I still have cs5.5 on my computer and just now cs6.  The problem, I have run into is when I try to import a .mp4 video file AE cs6 tells me "After Effects error: file '132_2250_01.MP4' cannot be imported - this 'MooV' file is damaged or unsupported" 

Yet, the same .mp4 file opens up just fine inside Premiere Pro cs6 and AE cs5.5

So, I'm working on a project and it looks like I have to finish it in cs5.5 

Any reasonable explanation?  Thanks for your help. 

PS-All other .mov .avi files open up just fine in AE cs6

Only files that are giving me a problem with cs6 are the ones I recorded with my Sony EX Cam.  CS5.5 never has.

cannot make transparent mask

hi.

 

i have a footage1 with a screen showing some numbers, etc. and i have footage2 showing a football match.

 

i want the screen to show the football match

 

i created rectangular mask layer and made it a parent of footage2, also tried all TrkMat options on footage2 layer but the mask still remains solid white.

 

how can i make that white triangle to show the football match? screen football.jpg

Sony XDCAM

I am having black frames flash radnomly with MXF clips exported from Avid Media Composer v6.5

 

Shot using a Sony XDCAM F800

1080 25p

50Mbps

 

They play perfectly fine in Premiere.

 

CS6 AE just upadted to AE 11.0.2.11.

 

Black frames appear in different spots than they did before.

 

Doesn't look so great when broadcast in my opinion.

Preferences option missing

Hey. I just got a new Macbook Pro Retina.

I went from a Windows PC to a Mac, and everything is working fine except for the fact that my preferences option in After Effects is not showing. It used to show up under Edit>Preferences on my previous PC but I can't seem to find it at all now.

 

Does anyone know why this is?

Was playing around with the Demo for CS6 and discovered to my dismay that I can't import xdcam .mxf files that I am able to import with CS5.5.  What is up with that?

How to scale tracket points in After Effects?

Hello

 

I have 4 moving points tracked around my mouth.

Now i want to animate a toy-figur's mouth with my trackpoints.

 

My tracked points are much bigger than the mouth on the figure.

How can i scale down the trackpoint to fit to the figures mouth?

Hey! This will be my first thread ever on this site, and I just wish to say that After Effects been a great product and I now wish to learn more into it, other than just buying templates or what ever.

 

I am asking for some help on how to do the following effects you see in the very beginning of the file on this page:

The text gently falls into place and starts building up the intro. This is what I want

RAM usage reaching 100%?

Hi guys,

I'm starting this discussion to help me with a problem that I'm having with After Effects CS6, where everytime that I try and render a video, the RAM % being used of my available 4GB is reaching 100%, subsequently stopping the render and giving me the following error message:

My Computer Specs:

2011 Macbook Air

1.7 GHz Intel Core i5

4gb RAM 1333 MHz DDR3

Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB

Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5

 

After Effects Details:

After Effects CS6 Version 11.0.2.11

2.5gb RAM Available to After Effects

Multiprocessing - Off

.mp4 format with the H.264 Codec

Rendering in 59.94 fps

 

I'll also add that I've only ever encountered this problem since upgrading from CS5 to CS6 and that I am a Call of Duty editor for YouTube, so these renders have lots of colour correction and effects!

Are there any known solutions to this problem? Or is it just my 'under-powered' computer

After Effects Crash

When starting AE I get this message:

 

After Effects error: Crash in progress.  Last logged message was: <4332> <GPU Manager> <2> Sniffer Result Code: 1

 

The only time I can get AE to start is if I open it as soon as I turn on the computer.  Any attempt to open it after that results in the above crash message.  This is on my laptop.  I had a similar problem on my desktop a few months ago that was fixed after a couple of hours of trial and error by the technical help people.

need help converting an AE6.5 project file to CS6

I have a project file saved in AE 6.5 which would be painful to recreate. I know this can only be done by resaving the file using CS4 or possibly CS5... but I am a licensed user of AE CS6. Would be nice if Adobe could make some sort of converter available.

Any help would be immensely appreciated.

We are importing prores footage 422 in after effetcs CS6 and when we export the media we have bright and color differences compared with the original footage. We found an Adobe document that explains how to edit the "interpretation rules" to tell after effetcs that footage is 4:2:2. We did it but we're still experiencing the same issue.

I'm using Adobe After Effect CS5.5 and I'm having a problem with the following errow message:

 

PROBLEM / ERROR MESSAGE

After effects error: exception occurred while processing effect "Pixelate". ( 25 ::0 )

 

SCENARIO

It happens when I apply pixelate to text and have the text move onscreen from offscreen...
To clarify, let's say I apply the "pixelate" effect to text and move it off screen. Then, I place a keyframe and move 10 frames down. Next, I place another keyframe (ten frames past the 1st keyframe), and I move the text to the center of the screen. When I play the comp, the error appears as soon as the text is first visible in the preview window (onscreen).

 

I've already tried the following websites, but none of there solutions work:

cannot apply track matte to a second layer

hi

 

i have a footage showing office's screen which displays some statistics, etc.

 

I masked out that screen and added a different footage within mask's boundaries and now the screen displays some football match instead.

 

Now i want to add another footage right after football footage - to imitate switching between tv channels (i guess it's also called channel surfing?). In other words, i want that screen to display a football match, then some news report, then some documentary, etc.

 

So i added 2nd footage to may composition and placed it under football layer (refer to printscreen)

 

I selected football and 2nd footage  and made a precomposition. then applied Alpha matte and set track matte as parent. Did not work - only a white rectangle was displayed instead of footage.

 

Then i tried to duplicate track matte and placed it right above 2nd footage and set it (track matte duplicate) as parent - was thinking that each new footage may require separate track matte. did not work either...

 

if somebody could take a look at the printscreen and gi2nd layer ae.jpge advise it would be awesome.

 

 

 

By the way, i managed to display 2nd footage by applying Alpha inverted matte and setting it as a child to track matte, but its not quite right because i have to meticulously adjust 2nd footage's size manually to fit into office screen's frame and its really hard to do

Anchor Point error offsetting type by 25 px...

I am working in After Effects CS 6 (11.0.2.11) When using the text tool, my anchor point defaults to aprox. 25 pixels to the left of where is should be, regardless of how the text is justified. How can I fix this problem? Thank You!

Im having a problem with after effects identifying a files location(desc)

I recently added music to a after effects project from my desktop and it worked fine, then I moved the music file from my desktop to my music folder and now AE is saying the file is missing or cant be indetified. Is there a way to let AE identifying it without moving it to my desktop or re-importing my clip to my project.(mac)

Square or non square pixels

I am very new to After Effects and am completely unsure about which composition and preset Settings to choose. I want to create a slideshow to view on a SD LED TV although I have no idea which preset to choose: PAL DV, PAL DV Widescreen, PAL DV Squarew Pixels, PAL DVWidescreen Square Pixels.

 

Should I be working in 720x576, is it okay to view on widescreen TV??
