Hey I have a really clear video and picture i put them into the project and they are fine but when I move them to the commotion on they are heavily pixelated , iam new to after effect so It could be a simple fix . Thanks

Strange issue animating rectangle path - wrong parameters changing
I'm trying to keyframe the path of a shape layer I created with the rectangle tool, but running into a strange bug.
I converted the rectangle to a Bezier Path, then keyframed the position of two of the points. However, instead of animating the position, the entire shape scales down between keyframes, then jumps to the new position when it reaches the second keyframe. Any ideas on what's going on here??

After Effects freezing on camera tracking
I was able to track a camera and place a tracked text in a clip successfully, however whenever I try and track another camera in a different clip or even in the same clip that I was able to do previously it will either freeze on "initializing camera" or will crash the program outright.
Any help will be appreciated.

My Wiggle Preset isn't Working Properly
I've had AE for a few months now & had created a wiggle preset (w/ position and rotation). It's worked fine up until now. Now, Instead of the clip moving slightly from side to side, it seems to stretch out the entire clip. It's the same settings & comp setting but it's turning out completely different. Any idea why?

After Effects Preview and Render Crash (tested on CS6, CC15, CC17)
Hi there, this is my first post on this forum. I have a very important question, I hope there is a solution right here. My Adobe After Effects keep crash when I hit space button (previews), i don't know what's happen, but AE in my PC works like charm, no Previews and Render problem. Please help me, My creativity stopped because all of those bugs

In My Laptop, I've already tested the CS6, CC 2015.2, and CC 2017.0 version. But none of those software works well. It'll always show the same bugs, Preview and Render bugs. I've seen a lot of tutorial to fix the bugs on the internet (Google, Youtube, etc), but I think nobody has a bugs like my AE bugs. In my PC, I'm using AE CS6, and I don't even see the "AE has stopped working" dialog. I'm working with .MOV file that recorded with Nikon D3300. Video bitrate is 24Mbps. But I think that's not a problem, because I don't even see the error dialog on my AE CS6 in My PC. Is there a problem on Hardware ? or is there a problem in Windows 10 ? My AE settings (all version) has a default settings, I'm not change anything.
Please help me, I have to work with AE.

Preview is slow and choppy in AE 2017.2
Hi there,
I swear AE didn't used to do this, but now my previews on the timeline are really slow and make the audio playback very choppy even with fast preview etc...
I've got the following
Intel Xeon E5-2630 v2 (Six Core HT, 2.6Ghz Turbo 15Mb)
32GB RAM
Nvidia Titan Black
Windows 10 64bit
So basically if I purge my work area then it looks like this...

straight after I did that screenshot it (for some reason) used RAM (ie the green line appeared slightly after the work area)

then when I actually previewed the work area (Shift 0) it added green before and after the work area when in my Preview settings I specifically chose "Work Area" for the range).

File permissions for project files set to 'No Access' for Everyone group in CC 2017 (14.2)
I have noticed that when saving projects using AE 2017 (14.2.0.198) and OS X 10.11.6, the project file permissions get set to -rw-rw----, so only my current user and anybody in the 'staff' group have read/write permissions, while anybody else gets no access.
In AE CC 2015.3, the default file permissions are set to -rw-rw-rw-. In Photoshop CC 2017.1, the default file permissions are set to -rw-r--r--@. This is also the same permissions that OS X's TextEdit application uses. AE CC 2014.2 has the same minus the @ symbol (so no extended attributes).
I am currently signed in as an Administrator user. The fact that default permissions have changed between versions isn't that big a deal, but the current permissions actually do matter to me - I need network users to access these project files, and currently I have to save my project and manually change permissions afterwards in order for that to work.
A bug report has already been filed since I didn't know how else to frame it. Does anybody know if default permissions can be edited, or if there is a workaround for this issue?

Accepts shadows "Only - Disabled"
I want to create transparent shadow catcher. To do that, I need to set Accepts Shadows "Only".
However, I have only option "Only - Disabled" and it's not transparent.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem? What did I do wrong?!

After Effects 14.2 upgrade removed Lens Blur plugin
So I tried to copy from my 14.1 backup and it will not see it.
I have a purchased theme that uses it a lot and I don't know
the right plugin to select so I can copy and paste the settings.
This worked great in 14.1.. any tips?

After Effects CC 2017 v14.2 closes automatically after loading
i downloaded CC desktop app, signed-in and clicked "Try" on After Effects... after downloading Ae, i open it and proceed to the 7 days trial..
after loading the app.. i clicked "New Project" on the start-up display.. but it suddenly closes automatically.. i tried opening Ae many times but it still closes and sometimes it closes before the start-up display...
does anybody had the same issue on Ae?
how to solve / fix this issue?
ps. no adobe product installed before i installed CC desktop app

HOW TO change the background and Colors of Elements in an AE TEMPLATE
Hey there everyone, I am simply wanting to alter an after effects template but am in No way A professional VFX artist. I know My way around AE a little bit but perhaps not enough to change these seemingly small things. I want to Make my Gold and White elements Silver and Gold such as in the example in the second picture down. I photoshopped it to get the idea across but Not sure how its done in After effects. Also I am wanting to alter the background or switch it out and Seemingly cant do that Very easily either. Is there something I am missing altogether in the file? Any help would be great, thank you!!!

After Effects cc 2017.2 keeps crashing on start up
Ok so I recently downloaded after effects trial and I tried to open it up but it stops responding and I always have to close it.
I've already tried to reinstall after effects and tried searching up the problem but nothing seems to work. I even tried resetting my laptop. What should I do?

Only Element 3D Objects not Responding to Lights except ambient Light
I am in great problem that Element 3D objects are the only objects which are not accepting lights.
It only responds to ambient light not spot, point or parallel light.

filming 25fps or 50fps then using timewarp
Hello
I was wondering what peoples thoughts are on filming at 25fps then using slow motion instead of filming at 50fps and then slowing it down. Timewarp uses pixel motion blending, or whatever it's called, so i feel the slow mo is still quite smooth and i don't loose as much resolution as i would if i would be filming at 50fps, but i'm still not sure if it produces the best results!
I'm shooting with a Canon EOS REBEL 550D/T2i. When you optimize filming conditions, 720p instead of 1080p doesn't have to look that much worse either so I'm lost.
I'm filming a music video and i don't have a stabilizer so I will be working with slow motion and the warp stabilizer to smoothen my handheld footage.

Make someone look like they're underwater
Howdy,
I got some cool footage that I'm supposed to make look like someone is underwater. I've done a test with the Psunami plugin, but I'm trying to find more tutorials to make it look even better. I'm gonna add some particulate in the shot to give it more weight, but I'd also like to add things like bubbles when she goes down. I'd also need some coming from her straight to camera (I'll include to screen grabs to help make sense).
Any advice would be appreciate.

I work with After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Modo. My friend told me if I am running each program separately , going from 16 Gig to 32 Gig of Ram, is not going to make that much different. Is that true?

Libraries Panel not loading. Error: %DL_LIBRARIES_PANEL_NAME
I had recently done a Windows restore to an earlier restore point and now I am not able to access the libraries panel inside After Effects. I only see a blank tab with the title %DL_LIBRARIES_PANEL_NAME.
I have uninstalled and re-installed After Effects but still no luck. I have also tried purging all Memory & Disk cache too.
